Hi there, I’m Daniel, also known as Pilotguy09. This blog is where I share my passions: Aviation, Cybersecurity, and Ham Radio—three areas that constantly challenge me to learn and explore.
My journey with flight began in 2009 during my time in the Army, where I trained on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. This experience ignited a lifelong pursuit of aviation. After leaving the military in 2016, I earned my BS in Aviation Technology – Professional Piloting from the University of Alaska – Anchorage. I then honed my skills as a Certified Flight Instructor in Phoenix, Arizona, before joining SkyWest Airlines as a CRJ First Officer.
Like many, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a period of reflection and change. I decided to pivot my career towards another area that fascinated me: Cybersecurity. This new path allows me to apply my analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic and ever-evolving field.
My interest in communication and technology extends beyond the digital realm and into the world of Amateur Radio. I’ve been a licensed Ham Radio operator since 2013, enjoying the connections and technical challenges this hobby provides.
